Il \u00e9tudie l\u2019orgue \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Cambridge et au London Early Music Centre. Son amour de la harpe est plut\u00f4t fortuit. Lors d\u2019une f\u00eate, il fait la connaissance d\u2019un facteur de harpes et s\u2019ach\u00e8te son premier instrument. Il apprend lui-m\u00eame \u00e0 en jouer en \u00e9tudiant les techniques anciennes et poss\u00e8de, depuis, une vaste collection de harpes les plus diverses. Les \u00c9gyptiens et les M\u00e9sopotamiens en jouaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 en 3000&nbsp;avant&nbsp;J.-C. Mais depuis cette \u00e9poque, la harpe a sans cesse chang\u00e9 d\u2019apparence. Son montant est en bois, ses cordes en tendons d\u2019animaux et ses cl\u00e9s d\u2019accord sont en acier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"...it gets the world ready\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uXuOpyKQ9Eo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abMedieval Christians saw the harp as a holy instrument. Tuning the harp also symbolised God putting creation into good order, every star and planet sounding its correct note in the Heavenly Harmony. Although today we often think of the harp as a gentle instrument, a women\u2019s instrument, an angelic instrument, medieval manuscripts show harpists leading armies into battle.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bean Jar recipe<br><\/strong>(Guernsey French: enne Jarraie d\u2018Haricaots)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients<br>1 lb haricot beans<br>1 lb butter beans<br>1 lb belly pork<br>1 lb onions<br>Stock salt and pepper for seasoning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Method<br>1) Soak the beans overnight in cold water. Discard the water. Put beans in fresh water and boil for at least 30 minutes.<br>2) Add pork, chopped onions and stock cube and boil for a further 20 minutes.<br>3) Place in a low to medium oven for a minimum of three to four hours or a slow cooker.<br>4) Beans should be soft and the meat should fall off the bone.
