Later he went on to advanced studies with Walter Van Hauwe on the recorder, and became a disciple of Hariprasad Chaurasia for&nbsp; Hindustani Music and&nbsp; bansuri flute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is co-founder and co-director of Alla Francesca, with which he has recorded around fifteen Cds and has appeared regularly with Jordi Savall since 1995. Bagpipes were probably already known in ancient times. They have been documented in many European countries since the High Middle Ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bansuri flute<br>The bansuri flute is played in India and Nepal. The word comes from Sanskrit and translates as ban (bamboo) and suri (melody).
